Healthy Eating While on the Go | Club Mondain

Continuing your (healthy) eating habits while you are travelling can be a challenge. The different timezone and cultural habits at the place of your destination alone are enough to intervene your routine. Let alone the lack of time to sit down for meals or you are likely of consuming more than you need due to the social setting.

Setting some basic routines in place will support you in the continuation of your healthy habits.
Club Mondain offers the following 5 easy routines for healthy days:

1. Carry your own water bottle and stay hydrated. Sometimes feeling hungry actually means you are thirsty. Even setting an alarm or installing an app to remind you to drink enough water can help create this habit.
2. Have a substantial meal before you leave for any flight. So you will not easily succumb to airport treats.
3. Bring your own snacks that have no added sodium and sugar. Nowadays (raw and unsalted) nuts, healthy bars and dried fruits are sold in most supermarkets and available in convenient small packages. Make sure you put them in every bag you own, this way you can tackle the first cravings with a light snack.
4. On your way to the hotel try and spot or ask for healthy restaurants or lunchrooms so when you do go out (with colleagues) you have an alternative to the nearest steakhouse. Also opting for the meal with the most veggies versus meats and fries will set a positive tone for the rest of your stay.
5. Go for an extra workout possibly with colleagues. Sometimes it inevitable that you will eat and/or drink more than you need on a trip. So how about also working out more? A hike or jog in a local park or few laps in a nearby swimming pool can do wonders for your mental and physical wellbeing.
